The interesting thing is that Buddhism itself is not actually a religion, but just a philosophy of living, and it’s the different sects of Buddhism that teach about deities and spirituality.

That’s actually because of us after World War II. I may be wrong, but I believe it’s actually control we still maintain over Japan. (Unfortunately, the more I learn about history, the more I learn that my past history lessons are more than likely complete biased and stretched-truth garbage, so I often question what I know about history.)
